Our doctors and staff appreciate that your time is precious, and make every effort to be punctual with appointments. However, we cannot guarantee that a doctor will be running on time. This is because in order to protect the privacy of our patients, our reception staff do not know the nature or severity of individual patient medical conditions. If your doctor is running late, we will make every effort to have you seen by another doctor, or alternatively we can reschedule your appointment for a more convenient time.
For information relating to the practice appointment times, and indiviudal doctor's session times, please refer to Opening Hours and Session Times. For the convenience of our patients Globe Medical provides late sessions on Monday and Thursday evenings.
For information relating to after hours and home visits, please refer to After Hours and Home Visits.
Reminders and Late Attendances
To receive an SMS reminder on the morning of your appointment, please provide the reception staff of your current mobile number when making an appointment.
Please advise our reception staff by calling (08) 8232 7372 if you are running late for an appointment.
Patients who arrive more than 15 minutes late for their appointment may be required to re-book or see a different doctor, should availability permit.
If a doctor is running behind schedule, we allow the patient to reschedule the appointment or see another doctor at Globe Medical.
Cancellation and Non-Attendance Policy
The doctors and staff at Globe Medical are committed to providing excellent travel medicine and primary health care services to our patients. Our cancellation and non-attendance policy better enables us to provide high quality services to all patients wishing to see a doctor at Globe Medical.
Cancellation Policy
Those that wish to cancel their scheduled appointment, please contact Globe Medical at least 24 hours prior to your appointment time (e.g. if the appointment is at 3pm on Tuesday, please contact us no later than 3pm on Monday).
As available appointments are in high demand, early cancellation will allow other patients the possibility of seeing a doctor.
Cancellation or changes to a scheduled appointment time within the 24 hour notice period, may attract a Cancellation / Non-Attendance Fee.
Non Attendance Policy
A non-attendance is when a patient does not attend their scheduled appointment time, or shows up more than 15 minutes late. Non-attendance and failure to advise Globe Medical with sufficient notice, means other patients that need to see a doctor are unable to access care in a timely manner. All non-attendances will be charged a Non-Attendance Fee.
* Note cancellation and non attendance policies for Allied Health practitioners may differ from the above policy. If you are unsure about the cancellation policy for the practitioner you are seeing, please ask the reception desk.
How to Reschedule / Cancel your Appointment
If you are unable to attend your scheduled appointment, please contact Globe Medical by phoning (08) 8232 7372. Alternatively, email adelaide@globemedical.com.au stating your full name, date of birth, date and time of your appointment and the doctor you were scheduled to attend.
Non-Attendance and Cancellation Fees
Non-Attendance and Cancellation Fees are issued to those that do not attend their scheduled appointment time, or cancel without providing sufficient notice. Non-Attendance and Cancellation Fees are based on the time scheduled for a given appointment. Please be aware that Non-attendance and Cancellation Fees do not attract a Medicare or OSHC / OVHC Rebate.
Referrals
To ensure our patients are provided with customised care, our doctors may refer patients to qualified specialists or other allied health professionals, where clinically indicated.
To ensure the continuity our patient’s care when referring a patient to a third party provider, a referral letter is generated. This letter contains information pertaining to the patient’s medical history, e.g allergies, current medications and conditions, and a description of the medical issue being referred. Similarly, Globe Medical will often receive correspondence from specialists regarding the referred patient.
